2025-6: Vienna wiesenthal institute
Barnabas Balint is a Research Fellow at the Vienna Wiesenthal Institute for Holocaust Studies from March to July 2026.
At the Institute, Barnabas will continue his research on Hungarian Zionist resistance during the Second World War, while also tracing lesser-known German occupation figures.

2025-6: Ucl institute of advanced studies

Barnabas Balint is a Visiting Research Fellow from 1 June 2025 to 28 February 2026.
His postdoctoral research seeks to understand the role played by the Hungarian Zionist Association (Magyarországi Cionista Szövetség, MCSz) in resistance and rescue during the Holocaust in Hungary.

Barnabas Balint was awarded the Miles Lerman Center for the Study of Jewish Resistance Research Fellowship for his project, “Reconceptualizing Resistance: Zionist Networks of Rescue and Resistance in Wartime Hungary.”

Barnabas Balint was appointed a Scouloudi Fellowship at the Institute of Historical Research, Institute of Advanced Study, University of London, to complete writing up his doctorate at the University of Oxford.
He was in residence at the IHR in London from October 2023 to March 2024.
2022-3: EHRI (YAd VAshem)
Barnabas Balint was awarded a Conny Kristel Fellowship by the European Holocaust Research Infrastructure, tenable at the World Holocaust Remembrance Center, Yad Vashem, to complete his doctoral research.
He was in residence at Yad Vashem in August and September 2023

Barnabas Balint was appointed the 2021-2022 Breslauner, Rutman, and Anderson Research Fellow by the University of Southern California Shoah Foundation Dornsife Center for Advanced Genocide Research for his doctoral research at the University of Oxford.
He was in residence in Los Angeles in March/April 2022.
